Dr Riaan Oelofse lives in the Free State town of Kroonstad, South Africa, with his wife and three children. Currently serving as the Small Enterprise Development Agency’s manager for the Fezile Dabi district, Riaan is a seasoned manager with more than 31 years’ experience in both the public and private sector. He has approximately 20 years’ experience serving on the boards or governing bodies of non-profit organizations and schools, including eight years as chair or president. He also has 19 years’ experience as a part-time and full-time business owner, and eight and a half as a part time e-tutor and lecturer. In additional, Riaan serves as an academic reviewer for the Journal of Contemporary Management and the Journal of African Business, and a moderator for the STADIO Multiversity programmes Marketing and Marketing Management 1 and 2, and International Management 5.

He has also served as a business advisor, both part-time and full-time, for 17 years.

He holds a PhD in Business Administration and an MBA from North-West University, as well as a BTech (Policing) and a National Diploma in Police Administration.
